The Friendship and Solidarity Cup Final was morally unnecessary since LSFC had already convincingly swept both elimination rounds and really should have been handed the trophy already. However, the format called for a final, where LSFC played against UPLB.
The visiting team raced to a 3-nil lead inside 20 minutes, when LSFC looked uncharacteristically nervous. The lead was, perhaps, never safe because there was still plenty of football to be played. LSFC fought back to lead 4-3 only to concede a goal late in the match.
In extra time, Rommel Valencia won the match for LSFC via the golden goal rule by stabbing the goal home from point blank range after good work down the right flank by Tyron Anciano.
