Although the alumni Sunday League ultimately turned out to be an abortive effort that was never practical to begin with, it at least provided the model for turning the annual alumni reunion match into a football festival called the LSFC Cup. This was the first staging of the festival, exclusively for LSFC alumni, which was held on 28 December 2009 at the De La Salle Lipa football field.
